Monsters in the Box
Delano is just like all of us; he wants to get a good night’s sleep. The problem is everytime he goes to bed he has…visitors. With the help of his Grammy, Del meets his nightmares head-on and tries to think in the box for a change.
Monsters in the Box is a story about coming to terms with your fears. The real ones and the imagined ones.
I don’t want to say that this story is based on real life — but to be perfectly honest, I’ve seen a monster or two at the foot of my bed. When the lights go out sometimes the most harmless things can look monstrous. Monsters in the Box shows everyone a way to cope with their fears and make a craft at the same time.
Nobody Kisses the Sun Goodnight
Domenica is a little girl who wants to stay up late. She asks question after question to try to put off the inevitable. One night she asks her father, “Daddy, who kisses the Sun goodnight?” When her dad tells her that no one kisses the Sun, she feels sorry for it and is determined to end its loneliness. Follow Domenica as she finds her way to the Sun itself!
This story is based on my daughter who has a great imagination. Her dolls have appetites, her stuffed animals can be blamed for making a mess, and her dog nods when she asks her questions. Domenica in Nobody Kisses the Sun Goodnight sees that someone has been forgotten. That someone is the Sun. Domenica is someone who just doesn’t accept the word no. She keeps going until she reaches her goal. I wish I was more like her.
My Sister The Dinosaur
Cecilia is the baby of the house – and likes it that way! So when her new baby sister comes home she has a hard time adjusting. Not only is her sister “loud, sticky and prickly”, she’s a dinosaur! Find out how Cecilia copes with the new reptile in the house.
It’s not easy being the big sister. Whether you’re one in a dozen or the one and only, all kids picture themselves as the center of their universe.
